The video that comes through is Constantine, lounging against the headboard of a bed, wearing a baggy T-shirt that's falling off one shoulder. Very obviously, she has no bra. Her hair is a bit ruffled, and her mouth is set in a crooked, wry smirk. ]
D'you know, I thought the "god-like physique" thing was probably just a turn of phrase.
[It really isn’t long after he sends the photo that he hears his tablet ping and he knows it’s his mystery date. Loki arranges himself in his best light. It would seem his picture worked so he remains shirtless as he turns his own camera on to answer.
And oh, he is very pleased with the sight he sees. It’s almost a relief to see someone he had enjoyed spending some time with. That always made sex better.]
Hello there yourself Miss Constantine. You are looking lovely this evening.
Oh no? And why is that? Have you had some better offers then?
[Loki would be surprised if she hadn’t had quite a few offers, especially after they got a good look at her. He was quite interested in getting a better look himself.]
Just because I typically like to keep to myself does not mean I do not have certain needs. Besides, sometimes I can also be quite social. You might be surprised to learn how I could be at the parties thrown on Asgard.
I cannot say I am disappointed either. I suspect this might work out quite well. So, your place or mine?
My, simply because I thought we might perhaps have this conversation in person rather than over a device which we do not know how private it may be does not mean I cannot contain myself. But if you insist…
I would like to determine just how I want to satisfy you. Any decisions on positions, or toys or even when you finish would be at my sole discretion. Of course, I would not do this without you having a safeword. Some may think me rather vile, but I do wish us both to enjoy this.
Now, what exactly do you wish to get out of this? Is giving up control something you are truly okay with?
Under the right circumstances? Sure. [ It would be a lie to say that she's not immediately turned on by the way he says positions and toys. ] If you're looking for unquestioning obedience, it's a hard sell, but ...
[ She's quiet for a moment, her eyes going a little distant as she considers. Everything at his sole discretion. Didn't she ask for this because she wanted to get out of her head? She'd been envisioning something more purely masochistic, a night where her body is so loud with pain and pleasure that she can't hear her thoughts anymore. Would giving up control, to someone she likes, someone she's attracted to, really serve the same function?
When she speaks again, it's thoughtful. A carefully phrased challenge. ]
Bring over whatever you think you could use on me to get me to call you "sir."
[ His phone pings with a pinned location on a map, and a text with directions: ] Top floor, 302. Door is locked.
Hello. Why yes, yes I do. And text is fine. I can’t imagine answering something that the powers that be don’t already know I know at this point. And I am always interested in talking about magic. What would you like to ask?
It does definitely feel like it could be magical. Of course, with my own skills greatly reduced, I cannot prove it. Though I do suspect whoever created this place was also adept in technology. My current favourite theory is that it is a combination of both.
I was thinking so too, but I don't know anything about magic. But if magic is involved, is there a way to exhaust it?
We know the city can make food appear if we want it in restaurants, it restocks the shelves in shops, it fixes things if we break them. We can't get outside the city because we get turned back.
But if magic was involved and set to work automatically, could you make it...overload? Tire it out in one place? Or make it do too much at once and cause a break?
Oh yes, magic is still essentially an energy source that can be worn out, if you will. In fact a lot of what I've experienced here when trying to use mine has felt a lot like when I have overdone it in the past.
I very much doubt we could actually break it, but weakening it is a distinct possibility. I actually suspect that has begun to happen already, what with things not replenishing at the same rate as it was when I first arrived. It is a solid theory that we can at least wear it out, but breaking is another story. Like you cannot break electricity, merely use it up for awhile.
Right. I started thinking about this because of the way food restocks everywhere, in the restaurants too. I don't know what we could do if we tried straining whatever energy they use to make everything fix itself or for items to restock, but there has to be something we can do with that. Trying to get out the obvious way hasn't worked for us. And I don't know how we can affect whatever keeps us going too far where they don't want us.
But it might be an idea. Trying to walk out of here hasn't been working.
It is true, something different definitely needs to be attempted. I would think that the best option would be to pick one example we have of these occurrences, like the food, and have everyone get together and participate. I don't know, like perhaps if we have everyone go to the Diner or one of the restaurants and continually order food non-stop until something happens. Or we all drop of exhaustion. Though I think we might want to think of something else besides food as if we are wrong or the exhaustion point is far beyond what we are expecting, it would not do to have no food left. Perhaps everyone can break something that the city would typically fix at the same time?
Merry Christmas and a happy Noel to you! I'm here to announce who you'll be a secret Santa to... Your giftee is: Angela!
Congratulations! Here's a few notes to help you pick or make the perfect present for them.
LIKES: She seems to also enjoy collecting fun mugs, just like me~ DISLIKES: People that ask too many questions about herself. Oh, or maybe just people who ask too many questions... HOBBIES: Probably trying to avoid me, just like Gebura~ It's something they have in common, you see.
Remember we'll be having a Christmas party on the 25th, so if you want to give it to them then or just drop it off by the tree for them to find, well, you can do just that! We'll have a lot of traditional Christmas foods, plus smores, and I'm sure it'll be a wonderful little time for us to gather, sing carols, and be merry this cold winter season!
If you've got any questions, comments, concerns, or desires for clarifications... You got one chance to ask them, because I've got a bunch of people to contact and I don't have a bunch of time to entertain conversation! :)
You think I know everyone in this City? Come on now... But she's that woman who runs The Bookstore, pretty sure. An acquaintance of mine works there. Good luck!
[ The voice message starts off relatively silent, with a bit of rustling, but after a second or two, the sound of a party popper is heard in the background, and maybe a giggle or two. And then: ]
Hi Loki! Merry Christmas! I hope you're having a great day! It's the holidays so I hope you've had a chance to celebrate! Either way, I do hope you've gotten yourself lots of presents—and maybe one more won't hurt, right? Also, since we're approaching the start of a new year, I hope you're going to have a great new year! Wishing you all the best!
[ The message ends there.
There is a package waiting for Loki—it's a holiday card with a few cute bunnies drawn on it, and along with the card, there is a box of chocolate that's wrapped up in a rather unique wrapping paper—little Santa bunnies. Hope you enjoy those chocolates! ]
[Loki stares down at his device, watching the video play out. He can’t help but be surprised. He doesn’t have a lot of gifts, but he definitely has more than he expected. This must be because of the Secret Santa thing he’s involved in. It’s not long before he finds the package and opens it up. He’s rather new to chocolate, or human treats in general, but the box looks lovely and he thinks he can share it with Hob when he sees him next.
Loki thinks for a moment before typing her out a message.]
Good Day Usagi. It is nice to hear from you. Thank you very much for the lovely gift. I am sure I will enjoy it.
Call this a late holiday gift, or something to see you into the New Year. I haven't given gifts in this way in a century or so, and I'm afraid I don't know where you live, so this will have to do.
Check under the counter once you get there, right at the back.
[ Attached is the location of a small café in District 2. Should Loki go to retrieve the gift, he'll find a package wrapped in black paper with a golden bow tucked underneath the counter, just as Lestat said.
Inside is a beautiful square of fabric clearly intended to be some sort of necktie, in a beautiful colour shifting fabric that in some lights shines a gleaming gold, while in others looks to be a dazzling green. Alongside the gift is a small note that reads: ]
Meeting you has been a pleasure, my friend. Many happy returns for this coming year.
[Of course Loki goes looking for the gift. He’s going to correct that Lestat does not know where he lives, but in the meantime he’s enjoying the treasure hunt style giving of a gift. He opens it immediately and gasps when he sees what is inside the box. The fabric is absolutely stunning. He’s going to have to find multiple reasons to wear the tie now.
Loki pulls out his device and types out a message to Lestat.]
I do not know where you found this material, but it is absolutely stunning. I cannot thank you enough for the fine gift. I do not know what I did to deserve such finery, but I will cherish it always.
