history: Loki’s history is rather quite extensive. I would like to note that he only personally experienced everything up to and including his arrest after his attack on New York with the Chitauri army. From that point his history diverges to the tv show where he experiences everything from the TVA continuity. The remainder of his original timeline he is aware of. He knows all the key points of what would have happened, but did not experience them directly. Noted here under ‘Changing His Fate.’

abilities: Loki has a virtual laundry list of abilities, hence this link, however I tend to focus on a few to keep things more simple. I often use his strength in rp, and his healing abilities. It’s not impossible to hurt him, he just won’t stay injured very long. For example, breaking a bone is healed in a few days instead of a few months. I also enjoy using his ability to control cold, though it doesn’t always come up very much. When it comes to his combat abilities, I tend to focus on his love of daggers. Finally, his magic. Mostly I concentrate on a few key abilities. I tend to keep his ability to conjure up small items he might need. For example, if he has his daggers available to him, he can access them at will. If he wants a hot cup of tea, it will appear. That kind of thing. I also like keeping his ability to teleport, though for the sake of games, I moderate it to keep him within the area he’s allowed to occupy at the moment. For example, currently with the TDM for Etraya, he could teleport around the space station, but not leave it, even to just make it to the planet. In addition, he can change his appearance at will and use basic telekinesis. I tend to take his ability to timeslip completely off the table for obvious reasons, but if other characters/players are willing, I’m open to have him work on his enchantment skills.

personality: (600 words)

If anyone has a big personality, it’s definitely Loki. Not one to give up on anything he thinks is important, he’ll keep getting up and trying again no matter how many times he fails until he either succeeds or is somehow convinced that he was wrong or there is a better option. Though until quite recently, it was almost impossible to convince him he was wrong about anything. For most of his life, Loki was manipulative, violent and angry, constantly letting his emotions dictate his actions, typically in a very negative way.

As the second prince of Asgard, Loki was lead to believe he had as much chance of one day ruling the kingdom as his brother Thor, however he spent much of his life feeling like he was treated as less than his brother and tended towards trying to prove his worth in less than noble ways. These plots never worked and hurt Loki’s reputation amongst friends and family. The longer this went on, the more bitter and angry he became, feeling like he hadn’t been given a fair chance. None of this was made any better when he found out he was adopted, and not just that, but he was taken during war from the enemy. As a child, he was taught that the Jotnar (frost giants from Jotunheim, and Loki’s birth people) were evil monsters who wanted nothing more than to destroy Asgard. This broke Loki, causing him to resort to drastic measures, namely allowing the Jotnar to invade Asgard so he could single-handedly kill their leader, and his birth father, in a failed attempt at looking like the hero of Asgard.

This was the beginning of a drastic downturn for Loki, leading him to work for Thanos and help try to take over the Earth as his own. During this dark period, Loki lost all of his humanity, no longer caring for anyone but himself and only looking out for number 1.

The turning point that changed his attitude about everything came when he was taken by the TVA after his failed attempt at invading Earth and attacking New York City. For the first time he was given the chance to succeed and have some real purpose. This changed his attitude from bitter, angry and vengeful to brave and determined to help everyone. He has since become a good friend willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good of all. He’s good at listening and giving advice to friends and is happy to have people around he cares about and cares about him.

Due to how he acted for much of his time prior to being with the TVA, Loki is fairly new to having friends. He’s learned quickly how to be a good one, but sometimes second guesses how others really feel about him, unless you are one of the people who really got to know him during his redemption. As a result, he’ll be a little hesitant when running into any of the Avengers, expecting they won’t trust him (rightfully so).

Despite this, some points in Loki’s personality have remained steady. He’s still very determined to achieve goals he thinks are important and necessary. He works hard to figure out whatever problem lies in front of him and does not give up easily. He also has a good sense of humour and enjoys teasing his friends. Banter is a favourite pastime.

All in all, Loki has calmed down a lot, and learned a lot about himself. He’s funny and charming and determined to not just prove himself, but that everyone deserves a second chance.
