[Honestly, when Kotone shows up just a minute or two before seven, she's half-expecting to be stood up. Like, if this guy is just pretending to be Loki, then meeting her could be dangerous for unraveling his whole charade. If this guy really is Loki, then maybe he doesn't want to waste his time with someone like her! Or maybe he'll be there, just to play a trick on her. Everything seems equally possible when she thinks about it!

Dressed in a simple orange blouse, white skirt, and boots, she bounces lightly on her heels, hands clasped behind her back as she waits outside. She probably should have tried to tell him what she'd be wearing, or what she looks like, but waiting outside probably makes it obvious, right?]

[If asked, Loki isn’t sure why he agreed to this. Except that he can’t think of a better way to find out more about this place than by meeting as many other inmates (as he likes to think of them) as he can. He also knows he’ll need allies if he’s ever going to find a way out of here.

Of course, he also plans on playing Game 52 as that could lead to getting out of here as well, couldn’t it? And it’s not like he doesn’t enjoy sex. Perhaps it will be the most fun way to get back home. But he’s not going to leave any stone unturned in his quest to get back to what’s important.

As he arrives at the Red Cardinal, dressed casually in black slacks and black button up shirt, sleeves rolled up to the elbows, he notices a young woman waiting almost nervously.]

Kotone? [It’s a bit of a guess, but he’s fairly certain it’s her.]

[The way she startles is subtle, a quick jolt covered immediately with a smile as she turns toward the man who'd addressed her. He's nobody she knows from Tatsumi Port Island, which means he must be-]

Loki? [Forgive her surprise, he just looks nothing like she'd pictured. For one thing, he's walking, not floating cross-legged, and also his skin isn't blue. Also his hair is short and dark instead of long and blond. Also he's way more handsome than the Loki she'd known!

Also he's nearly a foot taller than her, leaving her craning her neck a bit as any nervousness is hidden beneath a bright, friendly, and mostly-genuine smile.] Nice to meet you in person!

[It is subtle, but Loki notices anyway, not that he would draw attention to it, he just likes to know that he’s still able to sneak up on people.

He grins as she says his name and he nods.] I would say the one and only, but I’m afraid that just isn’t true.

[She’s quite small, but many people seem like that to him. He notes how she examines him, likely comparing him to the version she knows. He has to wonder how different they are. He supposes it can’t be any stranger than the alligator though.]

It is a pleasure to meet you as well. Shall we get a table?

[Oh, he's got jokes! She can't help but laugh a bit, giving him a smile and a shrug. Yeah, seems that way, huh? She doesn't know how she'd respond if she learned there was another version of her wandering around -- hopefully with half as much good humor.

[Without waiting for agreement or permission, she's opening the door and leading the way in. She likes the Red Cardinal; it's quiet, low-key, great for good food and quiet conversation. There's a corner table she has her eye on, and luckily enough, it seems free for them for at least the next little while, and with a smile back over her shoulder to make sure he's following, she once again tries to lead the way, hands clasped behind her back as she follows their server into the back.]

[Loki smiles in return and does not explain. It’s clear she thinks he’s kidding, but he’s learning quite quickly that not everyone needs to know about what he knows about the timelines. If she asks, he knows he’ll end up telling her, what with how that has been happening to him since his arrival, but so long as she doesn’t, he’s content to not let her in on the truth.

Before he can even open his mouth to respond, she’s already opening the door and walking inside. Loki chuckles slightly and simply follows her. She is striking him as interesting enough so far so he’s content to simply follow her in. Besides, he doesn’t much care which table they sit at.]

May I ask, have you eaten here before? [Loki has not been back to the Red Cardinal since he first arrived and had to eat more food than he ever has in a sitting before. He hopes they do not have to do that again.]

That isn’t really surprising, except when it comes to me, but I will take your word for it.

Control is a strong word. My counterpart was the one more capable of actual control, but I am able to enter one’s mind and find blocked memories. I could also cause someone to lose consciousness for a time, but that is about it. It is a rather new ability for me, one I have not had time to really work on, so that is about the extent of what I can currently do.

Am I to understand that when the Captain was speaking with me before, he really was curious about helping you? Or does he truly believe he’s had his memories erased.

I cannot say with 100% assurance as I have not tested this ability since arriving. However, I can say that the majority of my abilities have remained active while here. I simply have not had a case to test it yet.

Ah yes, I understand. [And that’s not just lip service. Loki has been doing his own work on making things better, on doing better, even here when he really should be concentrating more on returning to the TVA.

He also understands what it’s like to have someone know what you’ve done and still be there for you. A thought that makes him miss Mobius acutely.]

Well, we would need to meet in person. I require physical contact for this to work. Preferably somewhere quiet and without distractions. After that it is like I am pushing my essence into your mind. Yes, it is much like hypnosis, except you will be fully aware. I have no interest in controlling you. It would merely aid in opening up any locked away memories.
