[Honestly, when Kotone shows up just a minute or two before seven, she's half-expecting to be stood up. Like, if this guy is just pretending to be Loki, then meeting her could be dangerous for unraveling his whole charade. If this guy really is Loki, then maybe he doesn't want to waste his time with someone like her! Or maybe he'll be there, just to play a trick on her. Everything seems equally possible when she thinks about it!

Dressed in a simple orange blouse, white skirt, and boots, she bounces lightly on her heels, hands clasped behind her back as she waits outside. She probably should have tried to tell him what she'd be wearing, or what she looks like, but waiting outside probably makes it obvious, right?]

[If asked, Loki isn’t sure why he agreed to this. Except that he can’t think of a better way to find out more about this place than by meeting as many other inmates (as he likes to think of them) as he can. He also knows he’ll need allies if he’s ever going to find a way out of here.

Of course, he also plans on playing Game 52 as that could lead to getting out of here as well, couldn’t it? And it’s not like he doesn’t enjoy sex. Perhaps it will be the most fun way to get back home. But he’s not going to leave any stone unturned in his quest to get back to what’s important.

[He doesn’t like that it’s come to that, taking anything off the table that could have been an option for getting them all out of here is the exact opposite of what he wants, but it’s becoming more and more apparent by the day.

Contrary to Hiyori however, Loki thinks there might still be some merit in playing any of the games the hotel set forward. For one, he’s heard that there are consequences that also do not help their cause, and two, if ranks can be gained, it’s also possible that more information could come with that.

Of course, this knowledge hasn’t made Loki try any harder. If there’s ever a way to tell him he has to do something, he’s like to exhaust every other option first.]

You are quite correct about that. There is no reason why they would ever let us go, if that is in fact what they are using us for. In fact, it is more surprising that anyone has disappeared at all and that there are not more people arriving. Perhaps there is a specific number of people that is the sweet spot, as it were.

Alas, I have not found out anything for sure. I have simply been in similar situations before. Perhaps not the sex part, but there are other similarities to my previous location.

I'm not sure why they're disappearing, either. I guess the biggest question is whether they disappeared on accident, or if the House took them on purpose. If it's the latter, then it might be some form of punishment. Or so you'd think, but rulebreakers like you and me are still around, while good kids like Deuce-kun have gone missing. And I'm still not sure why Rinne-senpai vanished for a month and then came back, either. So I'm not too sure they *can* control it.

That's right, you've been to jail before! Were your captors lying to you last time?

I've never been to jail myself, obviously. But there are some similarities between this situation and the one that was going on at my home. I actually thought the House or J might be in cahoots with someone from my home world. Now I'm not too sure, though. Whoever's running this place is so powerful I can only assume they're a god just like you. In which case they're probably not very likely to have human business partners like that.

The first item in the package is a bracelet. I saw this in a shop and it reminded me of you! he writes. You really had me spooked when you slithered past me at the Magic Showcase, but I have to admit, it was impressive!

Then he also includes a few more items: some DVDs, all of them movie musicals. One is Hadestown (This one seems to be about gods, so I thought you might relate!), one is Fiddler on the Roof (This one's popular!), and another is a cheesy-looking romance (take your pick which one). Does Loki even remember when Hiyori told him about musicals and they decided they should see some together? Well, Hiyori does, and he lets Loki know that he's welcome to drop by his suite and watch one whenever he likes!

[The delivery is a surprise. Gift exchanges aren’t something he’s done much of in his life and because of this he both did not consider anything like Christmas gifts, either giving or receiving them. But when he reads the note from Hiyori, he can’t help but smile. It is nice to be thought of and it also makes him think he should start thinking more of doing things like this for his friends.

The bracelet is gorgeous and he immediately puts it on before looking through the movie collection. He very much remembers their conversation about watching movies, and is disappointed that they haven’t yet planned out watching them together. He would immediately consider figuring something out now, but considering how his birthday party went, he’s not overly keen on planning anything social right now. Well, I don’t know if I would say Scot-free. This is a fight, after all. I have not yet lost here, so all I can say is that I have not been punished. At least not yet. I would not put anything past them.

[For a while, the kissing almost seems to be enough simply because it is something that Loki has wanted to do for so long with Hiyori. It doesn’t hurt that the other man is quite good at it. Some might think that’s all because of how much the aphrodisiacs are affecting him, but Loki knows better. Right now, the drugs are just the catalyst, intensifying what was already there between them. In truth, Loki has wanted this and so much more for so long even without the aphrodisiacs, he’s sure he would find this just as intense, now that it’s finally happening.

A low and almost desperate sounding groan erupts from Loki even as he continues to kiss Hiyori as he feels the other man wrap his legs around him. Unwilling and unable to break the kiss, he blindly begins to fumble at Hiyori’s clothing. His outfit is, as always, rather complicated, especially when trying to undress him without looking. He wants to use his magic to simply strip them both, but he has enough of his mind left to know how startling that can be. He growls in frustration against Hiyori’s lips, his eagerness increasing as he hears the sounds of his own name coming from Hiyori. Loki pulls back just enough to look him in the eyes.]

I wish for our clothes to be gone now. Is this okay?

[It doesn’t precisely explain what he plans to do, but it’s the best he can get out at the moment. It doesn’t even occur to him that it will have them both naked and ready for more in close proximity to the rest of the Gala, he’s no longer aware that they are even remotely in a public area, though they are hidden from the direct view of the party. No, his only current concern is getting Hiyori naked as quickly as possible.]

[He may not have as many Game 52 cards as most people, but he likes to think he's a good kisser. He has plenty of experience after all, thanks to his live-in partner. He normally takes it a bit slower than this, but he just can't help himself: he's gripped by a desperate sense of urgency and fueled by a burning want, like he can't possibly get enough, like he needs Loki more than he needs air. And maybe he does, in this moment, thanks to the wine.

But just thanks to the wine. This desire was already there, and this is everything he's wanted for so long, where Loki is concerned. He can't help but crave more of him, his hands, his tongue, the heat of his body, the shape of him through layers of fabric. The only thing better would be getting all that fabric out of the way, so he can feel Loki hard and hot against him, feel the part that's going to be inside him soon—

The sound of that growl grinds his imaginings to a halt. It pricks his ears with heat. [A shaky hum of assent. He either isn't thinking about the fact they're still in public or doesn't care; if anything, it adds to his excitement. Nor is he thinking about whether Loki can magic their clothes back into existence after making them disappear. He doesn't want to leave the gala naked, but he isn't thinking that far ahead. Nothing matters but right now.]

Do it. Make every~thing disappear.

[He releases his grip on Loki's shirt—it'll be gone soon, after all—and slides a hand up into his hair.]

Inside, in beautiful detail, is the final sketch draft of a tattoo depicting a great, ethereal tree with far-reaching branches in abstract runic lines. Folded between the paper is a smaller slip, onto which a poem is written in an elegant hand.

[Loki isn't overly used to gifts, though it isn't like he's never received one before. But this is one of the most beautiful ones he's ever been lucky enough to get. Of course, he knew it was coming at some point, they had discussed his tattoo, and yet somehow he was surprised when he picked the booklet up off the floor from inside his suite.

He's always felt a connection to Yggdrasil, but to see it so beautifully displayed, and knowing it would soon be a part of him, nearly brings him to tears.

[ On Christmas morning, Alan drops off a present at Loki's door: a green leather-bound journal that ties shut with a thong of silver. A note is written on the first page in Alan's neat hand. ]

Dear Loki,
    I'm not sure if you're familiar with Christmas traditions from Earth. Traditionally we give gifts to our close friends to commemorate the holiday. I hope this journal will inspire you to pursue your own writing, as you have inspired me to pursue mine, more than once.

[Though growing up they had celebrated Yule, Loki does know about Christmas and the history there. But truth be told, Loki likes all of it. This has always been his most favourite time of the year, even if he sometimes pretended it wasn't.

So, when he wakes up the morning of December 25th, still thrilled that nothing crazy happened for his birthday this year, and finds a gift outside his door, he is truly touched. And maybe he feels a little guilty as he did nothing for anyone else this year. After how his birthday went last year, Loki has been lying low for the last week or so.

A smile spreads across his face as he reads Alan's note before bringing the package inside. Loki brews himself a tea before sitting down to send his friend a thank you note.]
