Yes, perhaps that is why they have not brought anyone I am close with. There have been a few people from my world, but they have since left, hopefully back home, but they were not people I was particularly close with. Though some might say I am the only one of my close group of friends reckless enough to manage to be caught by such a place.
We do seem to have power in numbers, unless there are a whole lot more people running this place than appears. The real problem there is getting everyone to work together while keeping any major plans from those who would want to thwart us.
[Getting everyone to agree to a plan and having it work would take a real leader, something that Loki does not believe himself to be. If Mobius were here, he’d know what to do. As much as Loki is glad his friend is still back at the TVA trying to figure out the big problems, and not having to deal with the craziness of this place, he really could use his friend’s help right now.]
That is good to hear, and I am glad to have you as an ally. I will be sure to do the same for you as well. The more information we can share, the better chance we will have at figuring out something we can do.
At least a month. That is not terrible, I suppose. Though I could see them starting to punish us for perhaps not participating enough, I imagine it would take a lot for them to bring us completely out of play by turning us to stone.

I'm glad they can't break your spirit. I won't pretend I know what it's like to be assigned a lower rank, but I've seen for myself how that sort of thing can foster resentment.

Honestly, one of the things that makes me leeriest is the existence of those "suit effects." Some of the effects include nightmares, hallucinations, violent urges, and other stuff like that. I feel like those would make sex harder to obtain, not easier. Which really makes me wonder if their ultimate goal is something other than everyone just sleeping around a lot. It feels almost like they want to tear our souls apart. Or else chip away at our sense of self until there's nothing left.
It doesn't sound like it'll work in your case, though. Or in my case. So they'll just have to cry about it when they don't achieve the results they want.

Are those some of your possibilities for your suit reaction? Mine are very much all emotion based. From what I have heard, if mine activates, I become clingy and desperate. I suppose that is a turn off for quite a lot of people as well, but seems much more likely I could still sleep with someone as opposed to what you have heard. Still, I believe you are correct. It seems there is much more to this than just sex.They seem to want to see what makes us tick, if you will.

What you said lines up with what I've heard about Hearts. That one and Diamonds seem the most conducive to sex. The Spades and Clubs effects just sound awful, though.
Still, no matter which suit you have, it can't be fun to feel like you're being toyed with. But the more we know, the more we can fight the effects!
Or at least that's what I figure. I know it's not that simple, but having some knowledge is surely better than nothing.

Yes, that seems quite concise and accurate. None of them sound like pleasant experiences. I am not a fan of feeling desperate and out of control. It is hardly attractive to find yourself clinging to someone who wants nothing to do with you. But yes, in general the Spades and Clubs do seem harder to deal with.
Knowledge is power, as they say. I wonder if it is worth trying to trigger ones suit just to see if the effects can be overcome.

Which I know might not sound too different from me, but he's more wild and rambunctious. It's sort of like the difference between parking your flashy sports car outside so you can sneak into the building while everyone's admiring it, and crashing your car straight through the front door.
I guess his approach is harder to ignore, though. And he has shown caution at other times.
Perhaps! Your suit seems safer to experiment with than mine, at any rate. I'm not sure how to trigger them deliberately, though, apart from just not having sex for a while. But if you do decide to try it, then good luck, I guess.

He does seem to be a bit more chaotic than you, I’ll admit. He does remind me a bit of myself when I was younger, though admittedly he is much more upfront about it that sort of thing than I ever was.
I admit I am considering it, though I would have to work out a few things first. I want to test these things, but I also don’t want to suffer overly much. If I find out anything new, I will be sure to let you know.

First, you should know I was only given three questions I could ask. Just to reiterate, the person who answered them was Jin Mingming, who owns the Red Cardinal. I tried to get as much information out of her as I could, but she wasn't very forthcoming about certain topics. Or she'd say she could only guess, and didn't know the answers for sure.
But anyway, for my first question, I asked if she had a sense of what the resort takes from us. She'd said something before about some guests being considered more "valuable" than others, and I was curious about why that might be, too. I asked if our intimacy is what powers the resort, but she said it's not just that. She said, "What the resort takes from us is our fate. There are those who are destined to play a greater role in life, and they offer more for the resort to sustain itself on." Then she asked me to consider the difference between an emperor who commands a powerful nation, and a servant who dies young. Apparently someone like the emperor is more valuable.
I'm not completely sure why, to be honest. When I asked her to elaborate, she said that playing the 52 game "changes our fate" by making us "have such an intimate encounter with someone we never would've met before coming here." And that's how the resort gets its energy, supposedly. I'm not sure what that has to do with emperors and servants, but that's how it is.
For my next question, I asked what happens to guests who don't provide enough energy, and if there's any truth to the rumor that the ones who don't sleep around much get turned to stone. She said "some people do indeed turn to stone." But then she said "whether it happens to every guest, I don't know" and "it didn't happen to me even after I lost my usefulness because of a deal I made." I didn't think she'd tell me about the deal, so I didn't ask. But I do know it wasn't a deal she made with J. She said he's just about as powerless as she is.
For my last question, I asked why she was still here if the resort supposedly lets everyone go home after filling their so-called deck. She claimed that she did win her game, and that she could have gone home if she wanted, but that she used her wish to save her daughter's life. Apparently you only get one wish, and if you use it to save someone else, you're just stuck here forever.
That's all for now. I offered to do the quest again if she'd let me ask three more questions, but she didn't seem interested. Any thoughts on all this?

None of this sounds good. Especially for himself and well, Loki’s feeling a little selfish at the moment. After all, he is a god with impressive magical skills who is a large part of saving the multiverse. Does that mean they think he’s more valuable? Is he going to run into more troubles since he hasn’t been trying to hard at Game 52?

I think I have too many thoughts on this. Did she happen to mention what they deem as being more powerful? I know there was the mention of the emperor, but it could’ve just been an analogy.
And if she did mean rulers specifically like that, then why ever bring in people who are not as powerful? Are all of us powerful in someway they need?
I’m sorry, I’m sure you don’t have the answers to all of this, I am just trying to make sense of all of this.
May I ask, can I simply go speak to her at the Red Cardinal? I think perhaps I have a few questions of my own.

The specific example she gave was "an emperor who proclaims war." So it sounds as though she meant someone whose actions cause a chain effect. Someone who changed a lot of people's fates, either for better or worse.
I don't know why they'd bring in regular people, either, though. Unless the people who seem normal here are destined to change the world someday and just haven't gotten around to it yet. That could apply to us idols, I suppose. I wouldn't put someone like us on the same level of an emperor who declares war, though.
[Hiyori has a big head. He's proud of his accomplishments thus far and fully intends to make history alongside the rest of his unit. But "making history" in their case refers to winning some idol competitions, gathering more fans, touring the world, and shining their brightest onstage—things that aren't (usually) a matter of life and death. They aren't emperors declaring war (even if Eichi Tenshouin, head of StarPro, and Ibara Saegusa, head of CosPro and producer of Eden, seem to fancy themselves as such).]
It sounds like we give the resort the energy it needs when we sleep with someone we wouldn't have met otherwise. I don't see why, since an encounter like that doesn't have to be anything life-changing. It could just be a way to relieve stress or boredom. But that's what she claimed. She said it wasn't just about sex, though, so I wonder if it's also about the connections we make here in general.
[But if any sort of fate-changing connection would suffice, then why, why do they keep being pushed to have sex? Is it just because the resort is run by perverts? He doesn't think they'll ever have that final puzzle piece, and it frustrates him. If they could just find something else to appease the House with...

I see. Yes. That would make sense. It does not necessarily take war to change lives, but I see why that might be an example to use. Sometimes though, the smallest of decisions or actions can make for the biggest of changes. Truly, you would be surprised.
[Maybe in some ways what Hiyori does might not seem so important to some, but Loki knows how influential entertainment can be. It can inspire in ways many don’t understand and as such, can change lives much like the emperor Hiyori is thinking of.]
That actually does make sense. It might not mean anything to some, but creating connections through sex can be quite powerful even if it is not thought of that way by those involved. Intimately connecting two people that should not have met could be, and I suppose is, quite powerful.

And the entertainment industry also has its fair share of corruption, too, harboring criminals who accept bribes, launder money, forge ties with the mafia, and even have people killed. Thanks to his unitmates' connections, Hiyori's heard more about that side of the industry than he ever wanted to know. And idols can also save lives—potentially, anyway. How many artists and entertainers have been told by some fan or another at some point, "It was your art that saved me"?
Still. It doesn't change that he's no emperor. And in any case, how was having a bunch of meaningless sex supposed to change his fate? Unless they intend to gather footage and release it back home, so he can no longer have any influence on society...
In the end, it probably does no good to think about this stuff. He gets a headache when he tries. Loki at least seems to have gotten something out of it, and that's good enough for him.]

Still, it shouldn’t mean that one shouldn’t try to help. At least that’s what he believes now. Hiyori doesn’t need to be an emperor to use his influence or try to help. Not being a rule would certainly make things harder, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t be successful. Not that Loki would suggest Hiyori take part in Game 52. There are other ways to be successful here, Loki is certain.]
